A conversation between
a father and a son
Paul Surman has been making eyewear since 1990. He approaches design the way he approaches the ocean: studying the pattern, understanding the weight of things, building with the rhythm of what lasts.
Jack grew up in the same studio, among lens samples and acetate swatches. He came to it differently. As a musician, as a photographer, as someone who thinks in light and story.
In 2017, that language became Vieux.
What we hold to
Vieux exists to make objects that outlast the moment they were made in.

When a Vieux frame is gone, it is gone.That is not a supply strategy. It is a philosophy.
