For over 35 years, the Surman family has lived and breathed eyewear. Paul, a lifelong surfer and visionary designer, brings a rhythm to the craft — a sense of balance drawn from time spent studying tides, arcs, and the rare beauty of things that cannot be repeated. Jack, raised among lens samples and acetate swatches, approaches design like composition — a musician, a photographer, a careful observer of light and shadow. Together, they speak a language not of trend, but of intention.

Every Vieux frame is made in limited numbers, individually numbered, and never repeated. This is not for urgency — but permanence. Our materials are rare. Our process is obsessive. Our frames are not designed to follow, but to mean something.
